There is a new feature in version 8.7.7.   We added a new option to the existing ways to monitor Notes databases.  The new feature is called “Refresh All Views” and it logs a performance time, in milliseconds, for how long it takes for this process to finish.

This feature was done at the request of a major university, who wanted to ensure that the view indexes in key Notes databases weren’t being discarded because of inactivity. The reason the views were inactive was because they are hosted on a Disaster Recovery (DR) server.  In the event the DR servers ever were activated, they wanted to ensure that key Notes database would be immediately available.  Past tests of the environment had shown significant performance problems for the first user to authenticate on the server, as well as the first user to access specific databases.     This feature solves that problem!

An additional benefit for servers outside the DR environment is that scanning in this way ensures peak view performance for the first user each morning too.

All view indexs are current
