What is VitalSigns?

VitalSigns is a mail server and messaging infrastructure monitoring tool, optimized for IBM/Domino shops, that constantly checks the status of every server or service your email users depend on.

VitalSigns features comprehensive support for Lotus Domino servers and clusters, Lotus Notes Databases, Lotus Sametime Servers. BlackBerry Enterprise Servers, BlackBerry Users, BlackBerry Devices, standard Internet Mail Services such as POP3, IMAP, SMTP, and LDAP, DNS Servers, other Network Devices, and URLs (for monitoring webmail or key URLs).

Who should use VitalSigns?

VitalSigns is designed to be useful for any administrator responsible for managing Domino, Sametime, or BlackBerry servers. In addition, IT Managers will love the reports and graphs while the Help Desk staff will love viewing status information via a browser.

How does VitalSigns work?

VitalSigns is a client application. This means that there are generally no changes to your production environment required at all. The product uses the Notes client DLLs to talk to Domino servers, SNMP to talk to BlackBerry servers, and HTTP to talk to Sametime servers and URLs. Other supported servers are communicated with via the appropriate client.

What are the system requirements to run VitalSigns?

VitalSigns is a .NET 1.1 Application, and thus needs the .NET Framework version 1.1 or higher to run. This means that the .NET framework version 1.1 or 2.0 must be installed on the monitoring workstation. The client also requires a valid Notes client, version 6.5 or higher. The Notes ID on the client machine must have Administrator rights to the Domino servers it monitors.

Does VitalSigns 1.1 support Windows Vista?

Yes, VitalSigns has been tested on Windows Vista and is 100% compatible.

Does VitalSigns 1.1 support the .NET Framework 3.0?

Yes, VitalSigns already fully supports the .NET Framework 3.0.
